Mit einem spektakulären Startwochenende vom 9. bis 11. August hat der
Colorado Adventure Park Geschichte geschrieben: Die erste hybride Sommer- und Winter-Tubing-Bahn der USA wurde feierlich eröffnet – und das mit freiem Eintritt für alle Besucher.
Innovation „Made in Germany“
Die neue Bahn basiert auf der innovativen Tubtrax-Technologie
des deutschen Unternehmens Skitrax World, das sich auf ganzjährige Outdoor-Erlebnisse spezialisiert hat. Die speziell entwickelten
Gleitmatten Tubtrax
ermöglichen rasante Fahrten auf zwei 190 Meter langen Bahnen – ganz ohne Schnee. In der Spur halten die Tubing Reifen die
innovativen Tubtrax M2.1 Module für die Seitenwände und das M2.2 Modul
für die Mittelführung. Dieses Metallteil kann bei Bedarf entnommen werden, wobei die Matten dann automatisch auf den Boden plan fallen. Ideal für die Nutzung im Winter, wenn die Bahn mit Schnee modelliert und betrieben wird.
Dies ist ein Meilenstein für den Freizeitmarkt in Nordamerika.
Mit dieser wetterunabhängigen Lösung wird Tubing erstmals auch im
Sommer zum Publikumsmagneten“, sagt der Geschäftsführer von Skitrax World, Wolfgang Schmidt. „Die Bahn ist nicht nur ein technisches Highlight, sondern auch ein
Erlebnis für die ganze Familie.“ Ein Förderband (im Winter sind es drei) sorgt für einen bequemen Aufstieg, während die robusten Tubing Reifen für Sicherheit und Geschwindigkeit stehen.
Der Park ist nur 15 Minuten vom renommierten Skigebiet Winter Park und eine Stunde von Denver entfernt
– ideal für Tagesausflüge.
Öffnungszeiten
Der Reguläre Betrieb wird im Sommer am den 15.August 2025 starten. Von Freitag bis Montag ist die Bahn von 11:00 – 19.00 Uhr geöffnet. Eine Stunde Speed Tubing Spass kostet 35 $.
Nachhaltigkeit
Der Colorado Adventure Park ist der erste von mehreren geplanten Standorten in den USA, die mit der
hybriden Tubing-Technologie für die Winter und Sommer Tubing ausgestattet werden sollen. Die Kombination aus Sommer- und Winterbetrieb macht die Parks klimaflexibel und wirtschaftlich nachhaltig.
Zukunftsvision: Tubing ohne Grenzen
„Wir stehen am Anfang einer neuen Ära des Outdoor-Freizeitsports“, so Schmidt weiter. „Erst rund 25 % der Bergbahnen in den USA nutzen die Sommermonate für touristische Aktivitäten. Es ist betriebswirtschaftlich sinnvoll, vorhandene Infrastruktur wie Förderbänder auch im Sommer zu nutzen – ganz nach dem Motto: Dry Ahead!“

Colorado Adventure Park made history with a spectacular opening weekend from August 9 to 11: The first hybrid summer and winter tubing track in the US was officially opened—with free admission for all visitors.
Innovation “Made in Germany”
The new track is based on the innovative Tubtrax technology from the German company Skitrax World, which specializes in year-round outdoor experiences. The specially developed Tubtrax sliding mats enable fast rides on two 190-meter-long tracks – without any snow. The tubing tires are kept on track by the innovative Tubtrax M2.1 modules for the side walls and the M2.2 module for the centre guide. This metal part can be removed if necessary, causing the mats to automatically fall flat on the ground. Ideal for use in winter, when the track is modelled and operated with snow.
This is a milestone for the leisure market in North America.
With this weather-independent solution, tubing will become a crowd puller in summer for the first time,“ says Skitrax World CEO Wolfgang Schmidt. ”The track is not only a technical highlight, but also an experience for the whole family." A conveyor belt (there are three in winter) ensures a comfortable ascent, while the robust tubing tires guarantee safety and speed. The park is only 15 minutes from the renowned Winter Park ski resort and one hour from Denver – ideal for day trips.
Opening hours
Regular operations will start on August 15, 2025. From Friday to Monday, the track is open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. One hour of speed tubing fun costs $35.
Sustainability
Colorado Adventure Park is the first of several planned locations in the US to be equipped with hybrid tubing technology for winter and summer tubing. The combination of summer and winter operations makes the parks climate-flexible and economically sustainable.
Vision for the future: tubing without limits
“We are at the beginning of a new era of outdoor leisure sports,” Schmidt continues.
“Only around 25% of mountain railways in the US use the summer months for tourist activities. It makes good business sense to use existing infrastructure such as conveyor belts in the summer too – in line with the motto: Dry Ahead!”
