Major investment in Westendorf.
The new Fleiding 8-seater chairlift in the Tyrolean ski resort of Westendorf (Austria) was completely rebuilt at a cost of 15.5 million euros. One of the world's most modern 8-seater chairlifts with comfort suspension, seat heating and weather protection hoods was created. With 2730 passengers per hour, the transport capacity was increased enormously and the new routing means that skiers can expect a longer slope for even more fun on the slopes.
The proven Lifttrax FA and Lifttrax SP mats were used for the large lift zones. Several hundred m2 in front of the entry and exit areas were covered with the mats. This ensures smooth gliding to the lift entrance and exit even when there is little snow. The new "Dry Slope Drain Fleece" was laid underneath. This "DSDF" ensures that rain or melt water can run off optimally and no water accumulates on the mats.
Once at the top, skiers at the highest point of the SkiWelt can enjoy a unique panorama from a whole new perspective. For this purpose, a viewing terrace is being created at the top station, which invites skiers to take a deep breath and linger with the impressive 360° summit panorama from the Wilder Kaiser, over the Großglockner, to the Zillertal Alps. The viewing platform will be integrated into the Alpinorama overall concept with the thematic focus "Get down and recharge on the mountain". In this context, themed trails with staged experience fields will be created in summer 2019 and 2020. Here, visitors can expect decelerating and inspiring moments to consciously take a deep breath at various stations.
The state-of-the-art 8-seater chairlift from Doppelmayr is equipped with comfort suspension, weather protection hoods and seat heating. The new construction will also be used to optimize the routing and extend the runway. The new 8-seater chairlift Fleidingbahn brings a significant improvement. The modern lift system massively increases transport capacity and reduces travel time to less than five minutes despite the extended route to the highest point of the SkiWelt. One of the highlights of the new Fleidingbahn is the new top station. It features an observation terrace with a 360° panorama and impressive views of the Wilder Kaiser, the Großglockner and the Zillertal Alps.
