"Where snow is missing": Under this motto, Skitrax sells attractions based on plastic mats. The company's ideas are suitable for every season.

Ice karting, water jumps, tubing tracks - these are just three of the numerous attractions offered by the German company SKITRAX WORLD to ski resorts and tourist offices. Based on plastic mats, the company is already sending out impulses for sustainable summer and winter tourism in 50 countries. "Mountain railroads need to get into the entertaiment and amusement business to be successful all year round. Especially the slope style and youth scene is neglected too much in summer", Wolfgang Schmidt, CEO of SKITRAX, is convinced. Reason enough to introduce the four pillars of the company. Professional skiing on plastic mats - that is the classic of Skitrax World. "Whether alpine skiing, slopestyle, freestyle or water jumps - skiing is in season with us all year round," says Schmidt.

Alpine dry slope skiing:

Numerous variations are possible, such as flat runs for beginners, steep descents for slalom skiers, undulating routes for mogul skiers or obstacle terraces for slopestylers. The 22x22cm sliding mats Slopetrax are easy to put together and flexible to lay. For Big Air installations, the mats additionally secure the approach track up to the kicker - even at high temperatures. Considerably less or no snow is needed. We gained a lot of experience in 2021 with the installation of 19,000 m2 to the largest mat ski facility in the Western Hemisphere in Lviv (Ukraine).

Cross-country skiing:

 "Grip cross-country skiing," on the other hand, is made possible by SKITRAX's NordicTrax technology. The synthetic mats are suitable for indoor and outdoor summer use, and cross-country skiers glide over the surfaces quickly and with good push-off.

A good example here is the Kitzbühel-Pass Thurn ski resort, which has relied on Lifttrax sliding mats for six lifts for years. "Small stones, chewing gum or broken glass fall into the spaces between the mats and do not damage the running surfaces of the skis or snowboards," says the SKITRAX managing director. In addition, there are mats that are specially produced for the run-out of ski jumping mat jumps. On them, athletes can glide onto the transition with a good grip and safely. The risk of falling is low because skiing is like skiing on snow. The motion sequence is the same as in winter," says Schmidt. This is another reason why the FIS Materials Commission has certified the mats for summer ski jumps.

Tubing tracks:

Year-round recreational fun is also promised by the tubing lanes, the third mainstay of SKITRAX, "With our Tubtrax® modular system, which is unique in the world, customers can set up and dismantle lanes themselves quickly, easily and individually," says Schmidt. SKITRAX installs tubing lanes in an environmentally friendly manner and installs all elements in a safety-oriented manner, such as curves, straights, the start gate or the kicker for jumping into the air bag. Tubtrax sliding mats are particularly suitable for low inclines.

Water jumps:

If you want top performance on big air jumps or moguls in the winter, you can also practice on water jumps in the summer. "Front flip, Cork 9, Misty, Backflip, 360 - national teams and Olympic teams worldwide train on jumps with our Watertrax glide mats," reports the CEO. In addition, water jumps are a gathering place for youth - and not just at beach resorts.

Go-kart tracks:

E-karting on Kartrax sliding mats - according to Schmidt, this is the "new, fast-paced and environmentally friendly way of motorsports." With Ice-Karting®, the fourth pillar of SKITRAX, the company is currently revolutionizing the go-kart market. Here, guests slide and drift with karts on a racing course - safely and firmly on the ground. The attraction is suitable for children and adults and can be used all year round. SKITRAX provides design, karts, concept and installation for this.
