Sports complex "Hotel Emily Resort" opened
Since mid-June 2022, the new 5-star Hotel Resort Emily has been open near the major Ukrainian city of Lviv (Lviv). It is a quick drive on the newly built road from the city center to the small, picturesque Vynnyky mountain area 4 km away. From the airport it is only about 10 km.
Around an artificially created lake a modern 5 star luxury hotel with 6 (!) restaurants, event and conference halls, many smaller rooms for meetings, a water park, island with beach, swimming pools with large SPA & sauna landscape and an amphitheater was created.
Attached is the largest soccer academy in the country with 6 (!) large soccer fields, training rooms and a medical park. The covered 1000 parking spaces equipped with solar panels are free of charge for visitors. The goal is to manage the entire hotel & sports facilities in a climate-neutral manner and to operate them predominantly from solar energy. Plans for an additional large indoor soccer stadium are already underway.
Below a video about the famous 5 Star Hotel with alpine dry slope and tubing track leisure attraction:
Spectacular is the view from the hotel room across the lake to the largest dry slope area & tubing track in the world (approx. 19,000 m2). Skitrax World supplied the equipment for these facilities and provided training for the staff. On a 250m long tubing track with 6 lanes installed side by side, 2 conveyor belts lead to the start.
After a personal briefing from the service staff, the Skitrax Epic Tubing tires will speed down towards Lake Emily. The ride, which lasts about 45 sec, has two drop steps that give each tube an extra kick of speed.
Next to it is the entrance to a ski area with winter and summer operation. Two slopes with Slopetrax sliding mats, each with a length of approx. 460 m and slope width of approx. 20 m, lead skiers and snowboarders down to the lift entrance at the lake. There a modern 4-seater chairlift is waiting to take you back to the top of the mountain.
Upon arrival, a mighty red lion greets you, standing right next to the lift exit. It is the mascot of the Ukrainian soccer club RUKH, whose owner also built this entire hotel & leisure complex.
Skiing and snowboarding is possible here all year round. The special highlight is ski in/ski out at the mountain restaurant. Skis or boards are unstrapped (as in winter) after getting off the lift in front of the restaurant, it goes into the restaurant or on the terrace, after refreshment the equipment is strapped back on and off you go into the valley. In the valley area there are enough areas for the ski school to train beginners and children. Nearby there is also a restaurant where parents can watch the ski school from a distance.
Already last winter, the perfectly prepared tubing track and alpine ski slope could be tested for a few weeks - also by the youth of the surrounding ski clubs, who are already looking forward to the training possibilities for slalom and giant slalom in the summer season. Guests can rent complete sports equipment at the valley station. Then, from December onwards, if there is sufficient cold, the snow-making equipment will start automatically.
Again, the hybrid tubing track will change in November. The flexible Tubtrax-M2 side modules are removed and immediately a flat mat surface is formed. Depending on demand, alpine skiing can now be practiced there or several tubing tracks can be modeled from snow.
At the same time, the snowmaking system for the three (!) piste runs also starts, transforming the mountain into a winter landscape - until around March, when preparations for the summer season are already underway.
Below a video from the tubing track in operation:
Spectacular is the year-round night skiing! The ski area and tubing track are brightly illuminated by a large-scale flying light system.
In addition to the extensive equipment for the installation and operation of the 19,000 m2 tubing track and alpine dry slope, other equipment installed includes: Doppelmayr 4-seater chairlift, Axess payment system with separate electronic entrance area for the tubing track and ski slope, two conveyor belts (MEB Impianti) for the tubing track, extensive snowmaking equipment from TechnoAlpin, lighting system for the entire facility, Silvano Vidoi piste safety system, Kässbohrer piste grooming machines and many other small technical solutions.
Skitrax World supplied all the equipment for the installation and operation of the alpine dry slope and tubing track on 17 trucks. This includes the
Dry Slope Drainage Fleece (DSDF) for all ground insulation and water drainage, 70,000 special ground nails for ground anchoring, the
Slopetrax and
Tubtrax plastic mats, Stopping Fleece, 300
Epic tubing tires and the
Slide Liquid fast glide agent.
The population of Lviv is thrilled to have received such a professional sports and recreation complex. Everyone is anxious that this unique facility will not fall victim to the current war.
