Skiing and Tubing Side by Side in Oberwiesenthal

In the fall of 2022, the first hybrid mat ski slope with tubing track in Germany will be built at Elldus Hotels Resort in Oberwiesenthal (GER). A 30m x 20m alpine dry slope with Slopetrax mats will be installed on 600 m2. Primarily, children's ski courses will be held here in summer and winter. "Bring kids on Ski" is the motto. A conveyor belt will bring the athletes back up to the start of the slope. The conveyor belt will also be in use in winter, as the entire mat ski area will remain in place all year round. Oberwiesental thus offers 100% skiing safety even around Christmas - on snow or on mats when temperatures do not permit snowmaking.

The special highlight is the flexible hybrid function of the mat ski slope. Two tubing tracks are installed here for the summer months. At designated points, the mats are folded up, a new type of side wall construction Tubtrax-M2.2. is pushed underneath, the mats folded automatically onto the side surface and two fast-paced tubing tracks are ready. In autumn the Tubtrax-M2.2. elements are taken out again, the mats fold back to their original flat position. Thus, the entire area is available again for the winter for the children's ski school or as a slopestyle park - if it is cold enough also on natural or artificial snow.

We have already installed the same hybrid principle on the largest mat ski slope in the world in Lviv (Lemberg) in 2021. Now the first hybrid system is being built in Germany. The last winter was one of the snowiest in recent years. We offer the ideal solution for the smaller ski resorts in the lower regions, where it is not cold enough for snowmaking even in winter.
