The only freestyle water jump in Germany 

Ski freestylers Laura and Lenny Eckle (TSV Gernlinden) from the Munich Ski Association during summer training at the water jump in Oberaudorf in August 2022. We are already looking forward to the winter and to be represented by our two ski freestylers in the discipline ski freestyle mogul slope!

The freestyle water jump in Oberaudorf was built in 2008 and equipped with Watertrax sliding mats. Immediately, this only water jump in Germany was very well received by freestyle beginners to professional athletes. National teams from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Austria and Germany still book training dates at the jump. In the last 14 years, many national and international athletes have trained here and have made it to the World Championships and Olympic Games with podium finishes in their respective national teams. One of the best-known German athletes from WSV Oberaudorf is Lisa Zimmermann, who became freestyle world champion and also won the X-Games.

Young jumpers from Bavaria and Tyrol in particular are regulars at the hill. Here there are optimal training opportunities to first practise the first jumps with somersaults and turns on a trampoline. When these jumps are right, it's time to go up the hill. Two tracks with different jumping tables (22 and 38 degrees) are available for this. Everything is possible, from the first upright jumps to double somersaults with turns. Jumps are made into the Luegsteinsee, which is surrounded by a unique mountain backdrop.

Every Saturday from 3 p.m. from May to September there is public training under the direction of ex-freestyler Thomas Brandlhuber. Young jumpers from Bavaria and Tyrol in particular are regulars at the hill. The family atmosphere at the ski jump is particularly appreciated. In good (but also bad) weather, there is a barbecue at the ramp after training. The parents or guardians of the young jumpers often sit together in comfort for a long time while the young athletes jump again from the water foodbridge into the water on a special trampoline.
