Largest circus in the world builds a year-round tubing track.
Actually, the tubing track should be ready in December 2020. In addition, a large natural ice skating rink and some sales booths for drinks and food. "Magic Winter at the Circus Krone" winter camp in Wessling was the concept. Many families were supposed to get to the large grounds for the pre-Christmas season to directly experience dozens of lions, tigers and other animals in their winter quarters. Unfortunately, because of the lockdown, it wasn't allowed to open and so construction and opening is delayed until spring 2021 - or when theme parks can open again. But as it looks according to the incidence figures, the Circus Krone will be allowed to open again in the course of June 2021.
The construction work for the approx. 50 m long tubing track is still in full swing. Our stable Tubtrax-M2 modules
were used. These are light metal modules, which are 1.50m long and connected with a 1.60cm cross brace. These M2 modules are laid out one after the other, fastened to the ground with sturdy ground nails and connected to each other with metal screws. Then a fleece comes between the track and over it the fast Tubtrax sliding mats. Finally, a stopping carpet is installed that gently brings the tuber to a stop.
After the ride, the tubing tire is pulled back to the start by the driver over an artificial turf. An extraordinary extra is the start gate. Almost 7 m long and curved, it gives a special kick at the start of the tubing ride.
The planning and first realizations were started by Ice-World GmbH in December 2020 - unfortunately, the work was then stopped over the winter. Now the two-coloured tubing track with green Tubtrax sliding mats surface and striking red side walls is expected to open in June 2021. The final installations are being made right now.
We will report again on the finished facility at the official opening.
