Sleeman Center with the largest plant in the world.
It is quite extraordinary when the largest freestyle water jump in the world is built in Brisbane (Australia) with a budget of approx. 4 million euros. The renowned Australian construction company Buildcorp opted for the globally proven Skitrax plastic mats for the ski jump surface. The client is the Australian Olympic Committee.
For insiders, the Australian location is rather understandable, because a large number of freestylers in the disciplines, moguls, aerial, slopestyle, big air and halfpipe come from Australia and New Zealand. Many nations (among others China, Japan) will know how to use this jump.
Primarily, however, the hill will serve as a year-round training venue for Australian athletes. In connection with the winter and summer training bases Mt. Buller (Victoria Province) and Perisher (New South Wales), the new facility can be used for training all year round due to the mild climate in Brisbane. A second freestyle water jump of this dimension exists as a mega indoor hall only in Minsk (Belarus).
With six different jumping tables and over 1600 m2 of Watertrax sliding mats, it surpasses the jumps in Park City (USA) and Minsk (BLR). These two facilities in the USA and Belarus are also designed with over 1000 m2 of Skitrax mats.
The opening is scheduled for August 2020.
